I sometimes wonder if everybody would go as pumpkin-crazy as they do if it was a thing all year round.
Barely anyone even mentions pumpkin for the whole year and then, suddenly, announced by the falling leaves or, more likely, the Starbucks barista offering a „Pumpkin Spice Latte“, there is pumpkin everywhere.
In your soup, in your home fragrance, in your coffee, in your skincare…
Oh, wait. It is in your skincare all year round. At least in mine. And today, right after pumpkin season ended, I am sharing my thoughts on the Oskia Renaissance Brightlight Intense Pigmentation and Dark Spots Serum (PR-Sample) with you.
What Oskia claims:
An intensive daily correcting serum clinically proven to combat hyper-pigmentation, fade dark spots and repair sun damage, formulated with a unique encapsulated blend of bio-available actives & nutrients that act deep down to even out skin tone and ensure a visibly brighter, illuminated complexion.
Facts:
Prize and size
The serum is packaged in a see-through glass bottle with a dropper and contains 30 ml. It retails for 85 GBP on the website here. Yes, that is approximately 95 € and 103 $.
Texture and smell
Orange in color, the serum is runny, easy to pick up with the dropper and has a light smell that isn´t floral or citrus, but not unpleasant. To be honest, I can´t really describe it. The website says rose and chamomile.
Application and effects
After distributing it with my fingers, the serum stayed sticky for a while, but without interrupting any makeup or products I applied on top.
I felt like my complexion looked brighter and more even after using it for two months, but see for yourself in the before and after pictures of my décolleté below.
Favorable ingredients:

Unfavorable Ingredients:
- Alcohol: among the last few ingredients on the list
- Citronellol/Geraniol/Linalool/Eugenol: Potential irritants, naturally occurring in essential oils
Does it live up to its claims?
Yes.
I mean, it basically claims to combat all signs of aging, which is a lot, but it contains the crème de la crème when it comes to ingredients, so it has stuff to fight each and every thing that could give away your age.
Would I repurchase?
Yes.
Even though my hyper pigmentation isn´t completely gone I think it needs more than over the counter skincare to give me that result. But my skin looks lighter, brighter and overall plumper when I use it. Now off to find a sponsor for my new obsession…
Who do I recommend it to?
Anyone above 30.
Honestly, this serum contains everything your skin needs.
If I could change one thing (other than the price, but that is obvious) it would be the packaging. Even though they use the more stable form of Vitamin C I can´t help but wonder if a container that protects from air and light wouldn´t have been better. You see, I keep my skincare in a drawer, to minimize sun exposure, but maybe an opaque bottle? I´d much prefer that, I think.
So, getting back to pumpkins: I´ll use them in my skincare day in and day out. But the rest of the things, like kitchen, coffee and front porch? Nah, I am happy to limit it to pumpkin season.
How about you?
