erborian Solid Cleansing Oil – Scents

Are you a perfume girl? I most definitely am not. I struggle to even remember to apply it once in the mornings, let alone reapply throughout the day. My collection consists of three bottles, and only two get used regularly.

So it is safe to say, I am not your best bet when it comes to describing scents.

How does that smell? –Nice. Story of my life.

Review: erborian Solid Cleansing Oil
erborian Solid Cleansing Oil

When reading up on the erborian Solid Cleansing Oil, someone mentioned it smelled like green tea. Ever since I have been sniffing my cleansing balm like a mad woman, trying to make up my mind what it actually smells like. So far I haven´t succeeded. The only thing I can safely say though is that to me, the erborian Solid Cleansing Oil does smell nothing like green tea.

I guess it is time to stop trying and focus on everything else the erborian Solid Cleansing Oil has to offer. Because the scent is just a small part of the package.

What erborian claims

A balm cleanser that transforms twice during use to whisk away impurities for skin that feels perfectly cleansed and makeup-free.

If you want to know more…
This all-in-one cleanser and makeup remover is the perfect first step in either morning or night regimes to clean skin and help remove even the most stubborn traces of makeup and impurities. Formulated without the use of mineral oils, it blends coconut and sunflower seed oil to help leave skin soft, clean and comforted.

Facts

Prize and size

One pot contains 80 g and retails for 39 $ on the website here. There is a spatula to conveniently get out some balm without having to dip in your fingers and the product will last you a long time, as you really only need a small amount to cleanse your whole face.

Texture and smell

It looks and feels like a balm, but once applied to the skin transforms to an oil hybrid that has just enough grip for a massage, but enough slip to feel like you are comforting your face. The scent, sweet with a touch of herbal, is too strong for my personal taste. (And is nothing like green tea!)

Application and effects

You scoop out a bit with the spatula, massage it onto your skin and rinse it with water (and in my case, a face cloth) to reveal clean, yet nourished skin. It works great at taking off makeup, but needs a little work on waterproof mascara.

Does it live up to its claims?

Yes.

When applied it is a balm, turns into an oil and then is rinsed off like a cream. And it leaves my skin feeling soft, clean and nourished.

Would I repurchase?

No.

Don´t get me wrong, it is nice. But the scent is too strong for my taste. And, despite not having any noticeable effects, I prefer my products to not contain shea butter or coconut oil as I have reacted with breakouts in the past to both of them.

Who do I recommend it to?

Most skin types will be able to use this balm, but I think especially dry skins will feel the benefits. If your skin is prone to congestion or break outs, I think there are other balms better suited to your needs.

Oh, and please tell me what it smells like to you! I need all the help I can get…
